How to Solve Common Issues with Events in Standard
When setting up events, there are a few settings that if overlooked can make registering for events much more difficult than it should be.
Common Issues with Events
When using events, the most common issues resolve around two major issues:
- Specific Invitee not checking in correctly
- No Invitees being able to check in
If you are having an issue with a specific invitee being unable to check in to an event, first of all check the status next to their name. If it is anything but preregistered, that means that the visitor was never successfully registered for the event.
To fix this, you will need to add the visitor to the event that you want to check them in for.
- To begin, go to the Events tab at the bottom of the screen.
- Select the event from the list of events.
- Click the Edit Event button.
- On this screen, select the option to Select Invitees.
- From the list on the left, add the visitor to the Invitee column on the right.
- Once they are added to the list, click Accept, followed by Save and Close.
- The visitor should now be able to check into the event.
If you are having issues with no visitor being able to check in, first make sure that the above steps are followed. If the event has no invitees, that could explain why no one is able to check in.
A more likely problem, however, is that the start date or earliest check in allowed date are incorrect.
- To check both of these, go to the Events tab.
- select the event that you want to edit.
- Click Edit Event.
- Check the main pane of the event to ensure that the start date and time have started. Do the same with the Earliest Check-in allowed field. If either, or both, of these fields are incorrect, that could make the entire event unavailable.
Once these are set correctly, save and close the event. You should now be able to check in to the event normally.
