How to Enable Dual-Sided Printing on a Primacy/PrimacyID
Dual sided cards allow you to include more design elements including photos, cardholder information, your organization’s branding, barcodes, and more.
The process of enabling dual-sided printing will vary slightly depending on your computer – this page will guide you through the process on a PC and a Mac. Please note, you must have an dual-sided printer.

- Open the Evolis Print Center, and double click on the Evolis Primacy printer.
- Click on the Ribbon tab. Check the box for dual-sided printing. Click apply to save your changes.
- Open the Evolis Print Center, and double click on the Evolis Primacy printer.

Open the software you are using to print your ID badges. In this example we are using cardPresso.
- Click on File, and choose Print Settings.
- Make Sure the Paper Size is set correctly to Card.
- Open Advanced Options and select Printer Features to access the Driver Settings.
- Choose Ribbon Setting based on your ribbon type.
If you are using a YMCKO ribbon to print color on both sides of your cards, change the duplex mode to Front Color/Back Color. If you are using a YMCKOK ribbon to print color on the front and black on the back, change the duplex mode to Front Color/Back Monochrome.
- Save the Preset – failing to do so will not save your settings.
- Click on File, and choose Print Settings.
After following the above steps, your Primacy printer should now be printing dual-sided. If you continue to experience problems, please contact AlphaCard technical support.
