How to Resolve a Breaking Ribbon on a Quantum 2

If you are having issues with your ribbons breaking when you try to print with your Evolis Quantum 2 printer, there are several steps you can take to resolve the issue.

How to Resolve a Breaking Ribbon

  1. Update your printer’s drivers and firmware to the newest versions.
  2. Clean your printer. Regularly cleaning the printer will keep out dust and debris, which can damage the print head. Watch the video on how to clean your printer.
  3. Make sure your ribbon cartridge is installed correctly.Watch the video on how to load a ribbon.
  4. Calibrate the ribbon sensor.
  5. Try using a different ribbon.
  6. Ensure that you are using the correct power supply (each printer comes with a power supply). Also make sure that the printer is not plugged into a surge protector.
  7. Make sure you are not using CR79 sized cards.
