How to Adjust the Print Head Power on a DTC1000

If your Fargo DTC1000 printer is having problems printing properly, such as breaking ribbons or printing images too dark or light, you may need to adjust the print head power.

Please Note: The Fargo DTC1000 has been discontinued by the manufacturer. If you need a new printer, the AlphaCard System Selector can help you find the best printer for your needs.

How to Adjust the Print Head Power

1. Go to your Devices and Printers folder.
2. Right click on the DTC1000. Choose printing preferences.
3. Click on the Image Color tab.
4. Adjust the Dye-Sub Intensity YMC by using the slider bar. Increasing the YMC power will darken the entire image on the card. Too much heat can, however, cause ribbon wrinkling or ribbon breakage issues.
