How to Resolve a Card Jam in a DTC4500
If your cards keep jamming when you try to print with your Fargo DTC4500 printer, there are several steps you can take to resolve the issue.
Please Note: The Fargo DTC1000 has been discontinued by the manufacturer. If you need a new printer, the AlphaCard System Selector can help you find the best printer for your needs.
How to Resolve Card Jams
- Update your printer’s drivers and firmware to the newest versions.
- Clean your printer. Regularly cleaning the printer will keep out dust and debris, which can damage the print head.
- Try printing one card at a time.
- Try using a different pack of cards. Watch this video on how to load cards.
- Ensure that you are using the correct power supply (each printer comes with a power supply). Also make sure that the printer is not plugged into a surge protector.
- Check the cleaning roller on the ribbon cartridge. The adhesive tape may have come apart/loose and is interfering with the movement of the card in the card feed path. Replace cleaning roller.
