Updating Firmware on a DTC1000

Keeping your ID card printer’s firmware up to date can help you prevent problems with printing.

Please Note: The Fargo DTC1000 has been discontinued by the manufacturer. If you need a new printer, the AlphaCard System Selector can help you find the best printer for your needs.

To begin updating the firmware on your Fargo DTC1000 ID card printer, you’ll need to download three items from the Fargo website:

  1. The Fargo workbench, which can be downloaded at https://www3.hidglobal.com/drivers/15325
  2. The latest DTC1000 driver, which can be downloaded at http://www3.hidglobal.com/drivers/14821
  3. The latest DTC1000 firmware, which can be downloaded at https://www3.hidglobal.com/drivers/20482

After you have downloaded the driver file, run the driver software and follow the installation instructions.

How to Update Firmware

  1. Open the Fargo Workbench and choose your printer.dtyc1000_updatefirmware_1
  2. Click on the Update Manager Tab and choose your DTC1000 printer.dtyc1000_updatefirmware_2
  3. Click on Select Firmware File.
  4. Browse to the folder that contains the firmware file.
  5. Click the Begin Updating.dtyc1000_updatefirmware_3
