The versatility of Fargo ID card machines means that they are suitable for virtually any kind of application. Whether it be at an office, a school or a retail store, there is a use for a Fargo ID card machine. Fargo has been a worldwide leader in ID card printing and technology for years, and supplies card machines like the DTC550 to businesses, schools and organizations around the world.
Fargo ID Card Machine Spotlight: DTC550
The DTC550, a double-sided color ID card machine, is one of Fargo's newest and most popular models. Built to handle high-volume card printing jobs, the DTC550 has several unique features which maximize productivity, including:
- LAN connectivity - The DTC550, like other ID card machines, has USB capabilities to connect the printer to the user's computer. However, it also has a LAN connection to enable network use, making it possible to remotely make ID cards and then print them on the ID card machine if it's in a different room, or even a different building. The LAN connectivity also allows the DTC500 to have the LAN Print Security feature, which protects both the ID card printer and the computer used to create the badges - reducing unauthorized use of the ID card machine.
- Direct-to-Card printing - Fargo's direct-to-card printing technology uses dye sublimation to create crisp, clear, high quality images on cards - whether they be in monochrome or full color.
- Easy-load ribbons - One of the biggest hassles for any printer is the loading and unloading of ribbons and cartidges. Flimsy cartridges can break or be loaded incorrectly - a waste of money and time. However, Fargo ID card machines are all equipped with Fargo's easy-loading printer cartridges - all you do is open the door and snap in the ribbon. This feature reduces waste and saves valuable time.
- Tough security - While it may be considered an "economy" printer, the DTC550 comes with a lot of powerful security options - magnetic stripe encoding, in-line lamination, even smart card and RFID capabilities. This gives even the smallest company or start-up the ability to create high-powered cards without a high-powered price.
