WYSIWYG: an acronym that stands for “What You See Is What You Get”.

This acronym is used to describe software systems that allow users to actually see the results of their editing decisions as they will appear when they’re finished working on them.

This means that representation of an 8 ½ x 11 piece of paper that you see on your computer screen, when you’re using a word processing program, is going to look (almost) exactly like the real piece of paper you see when the document is printed.
