Replacing your printer’s printhead can help extend the life of your ID card program. While the specifics of replacing your printhead will vary slightly from printer to printer, here are a few basic steps to guide you through the process:

1. Open the lid of the printer.
2. Put both thumbs on either end of the printhead bracket, being careful not to touch the printhead itself. Press the brackets in and then up. This will pop the printhead out.
3. Remove the cables from the old printhead and place them on the new printhead.
4. Insert the new printhead the same way it was removed, pressing in and down.
