At this week’s ISC West conference in Las Vegas, Fargo is showing off a new lineup of direct-to-card printers. This “Advanced Generation” of DTC printers includes the Fargo DTC1000, the Fargo DTC4000, and the Fargo DTC4500. Fargo’s tagline: Simplicity Meets Versatility.

The Fargo DTC1000 printer is geared towards small businesses, schools, retail stores, and other types of organizations requiring a simple and reliable card-printing solution. It’s easy to use, features all-in-one cartridge-loaded ribbons, and can print right out of the box without the need for extra software.
The Fargo DTC4000 handles the needs of mid-sized organizations. It can quickly produce vibrant photo IDs and it’s equipped to meet higher security requirements. The printer’s field-upgradeable design allows users to add modules for proximity, magnetic stripe, and smart card encoding. And with the optional dual-input card hopper you can print 200 cards at a time.
The Fargo DTC4500 printer and encoder is the high-volume model in the Advanced Generation direct-to-card printer series. This workhorse of a printer comes standard with a 200-card dual-input card hopper and uses high capacity ribbon. It also offers maximum security with built-in password protection, and offers a host of advanced field-upgradeable options such as lamination and encoding technologies. For organizations working in networked environments, the Fargo DTC4500 features Ethernet connectivity which allows for centralized or remote ID card issuance.
