With summer winding down, and back to school right around the corner, many schools are reevaluating and revamping their student ID programs. The Scottsdale Unified School District in Scottsdale, Arizona recently announced that middle school and high school students will be required to not only carry student ID cards, but wear them so they are clearly visible throughout the school day.

In addition to sporting the ID cards around their necks, students will be required to scan their ID cards to ride the school bus. The cards can also be used to purchase food in the cafeteria or items in the bookstore, and to check out library books.

Both the ID card and the lanyard will be provided to students free of charge by the school district. The new program will be rolled out to elementary schools in the district later in the fall.

Lanyards are one of the most visible and secure ways to display ID cards. They come in a variety of styles that make it easy to match the needs of any business or organization. Badge lanyards can even be customized to display a name or logo; perfect for schools that want to showcase their school spirit.
