Medicaid customers in the state of Kansas will soon receive permanent medical ID cards in place of the paper IDs that were previously issued each month. The new medical ID cards will be durable, made of PVC plastic like your typical credit card, and won’t have to replaced.

The included card information for each ID is conformed to meet the national standard for advanced ID cards, meaning cardholder info is stored safely and securely. The transition to longer-lasting medical ID cards benefits both providers and beneficiaries by delivering more accurate information, stronger security and convenience, while also greatly reducing the administrative costs that came with issuing monthly paper cards.
