Adding lamination to any ID program is an easy way to increase the life-span of your ID cards and badges. Lamination adds a layer of protection across the surface of an ID card that not only shields the card from everyday wear and tear, but also makes the cards extremely difficult to tamper with.

One of the most common ways to add lamination to ID cards and badges is by using an ID card printer with laminating capabilities. Laminating card printers add lamination as part of the printing process. AlphaCard’s selection of card printers with laminators includes the Fargo DTC550-LC and HDP5000, and the Magicard Prima reverse transfer printer.
We’re also loving the new line of Fargo DTC printers, which includes the DTC4500, a printer that can be equipped with single or dual-sided lamination. With user-friendly features and advanced functionality including in-field upgrades, the DTC4500 is a powerful vehicle for increased security and durability.
Some ID overlaminates are self-adhesive and can be applied by hand for a quick security upgrade. Self-adhesive holographic overlaminates are also available to provide cards with a heightened level of visual and physical security.
