If you’re attending ISC West 2015, keep your eye out for an announcement from Magicard – their newest printer, the Helix, will be unveiled this summer!

The Helix will be a reverse transfer ID card printer. The printer will feature a touch screen interface, print preview, and more. The Helix is designed for high-volume printing and will include a dual-sided printing upgrade along with high-capacity ribbons and hoppers.

This will also be the first reverse transfer printer to include built-in visual security, using an advanced version of Magicard’s HoloKote watermark process. HoloKote allows you add a watermark to your cards, making it easy to identify authentic cards.

Reverse transfer printing, also known as retransfer printing, is a higher-end technology that produces crisp, high definition cards. The card’s design is first printed on the clear film, and that film is then fused onto the card. This extra step offers better visual print quality and allows for true over-the-edge printing.
