Zebra has added to its powerful Security Line of ID card printers with the new Zebra P630i. The P630i is a printer/encoder with single-sided lamination and a range of security options and features. Coming at a lower price tag than most high-security printers, the P630i serves as an affordable addition to Zebra’s Security Line of ID badge machines. The Zebra camp is hailing it as the most affordable and environmentally friendly printer in its class.

The P630i is designed to handle the unique security needs of a broad range of users from government agencies to corporations and universities. It prints in full-color or monochrome and applies a 1.0-mil layer of laminate onto the face of each card for protection from tampering as well as wear and tear. Cards printed with the P630i can last for five years, or more.
Security features include customizable holograms, and magnetic stripe and smart card factory-installed encoding options. Aside from producing extremely secure IDs, the printer itself is protected with an optional ID/key that prevents unauthorized users from operating the machine. The printer offers advanced connectivity with a USB interface as well as an option for built-in Ethernet connectivity. The P630i also introduces two new options: a smartcard contact station and a linear bar code scanner, both of which work to bring a higher level of security to issued cards.
