The Avansia uses reverse transfer technology at 600 dpi to print ID cards. This process uses a special film the design is printed onto first, and then fuses that film with the card, giving you the ability to print in better detail than with a dye sublimation printer.

If you want true edge-to-edge printing, reverse transfer printers are your best choice because the film used is slightly larger than a standard card size, printing your design over the edge of the card to eliminate any white border.
