A campus-wide system at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay allows students, faculty and staff to use their university identification cards to purchase everything from books, meals and photocopies, to tasty vending machine treats.

The cards operate on a points system. Students can add points to their cards online, at special campus vending machines, or in person. Reports show that half of on-campus purchases at the University are made using the ID card points program.
The system has actually been in place at Wisconsin-Green Bay for about 10 years, and use of the cards has increased steadily since their inception. Certainly the recent addition of card scanners to the school’s vending machines has attributed to this increase. Students have welcomed the newly outfitted machines with enthusiasm, using their ID cards for a high percentage of vending machine snack purchases.
If an ID card is lost or stolen, students have no reason to fear. They can simply go online to place a hold on the card.
Many schools are finding unique ways to enhance their identification cards. By using magnetic stripe technology to encode ID cards with specific account information, schools can establish convenient payments programs such as the points system at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Our School ID Badge Systems offer many ways for schools to enhance their ID cards.
