Fargo 81789 1.0 mil clear Polyguard laminate offers two great advantages to your organization's security. Heat and pressure applied to Fargo's Polyguard Overlam make the finished card virtually tamperproof; Fargo's Polyguard Laminates' 1.0 mil thick surface guarantees long life for cards that must be subjected to repeated swipes through magnetic stripe readers.
Proof of the comparative advantage of Polyguard was found through independent tests during which cards laminated with PolyGuard withstood up to 50 thousand swipes through a magnetic stripe reader. The competing cards that were tested began showing signs of damage after only 300 swipes.
Application of PolyGuard overlaminate to printed cards takes from 20 to 40 seconds, and leaves an approximately 3mm wide unlaminated edge around the card's edges.
Fargo 81789 Polyguard Overlaminate can be used on cards containing both magnetic stripes and embedded smart chips.
