Professional cyclists at the 2012 Heydar Aliyev Anniversary Tour were sporting more than colorful jerseys during the five day stage race that takes place in around Baku and the foothills of the Greater Caucasus in Azerbaijan. They also were fully and colorfully accredited with credentials produced by the Magicard Rio Pro Xtended.
The long-format printer was used to produce pre-printed, color-coded credentials that were punched prior to the event. On the day of the event, organizers personalized each credential with the personal information of competitors, officials, VIP guests, and press also using the Rio Pro Xtended.
The credentialing system allowed for greater control over secure zones for bicycles and other team equipment, as well as easy identification of police and race officials, greatly improving the safety of the event.
