When an emergency strikes, it’s essential that people be able to quickly identify first responders and other trained professionals to get the help that they need. In addition to wearing uniforms, ID tags make it easy to identify and name EMTs, fire fighters, first responders, police offices, and more.

ID tags can be a useful tool for organizing an emergency scene – they make it easy to identify all authorized personnel allowed on the site when trying to contain it. In addition, they help the public identify responders by name if they need to speak to someone.

Firefighters specifically have a unique way of using ID tags, what are called accountability tags. Each firefighter is issued a tag, which is collected by the safety officer prior to entering a building or other site during a fire. Once they have excited the site, they can collect their tag back – this makes it easy to know who has gotten out, and who is still inside.
