Encoded Features

Whether it is barcodes, magnetic stripes, smart card encoding, RFID or contactless card technology, encoded features on ID cards add versatility and security to ID card programs.  This allows ID badges to serve as more than just simple identification.  Encoding technology has advanced in leaps and bounds over the last few years, and a wide variety of advanced encoding options are now available on even the most entry-level printers.

Encoded features can range from the simple barcode right on up to the complex and secure smart card, which stores more information and performs more functions.  All ID card printers and ID card software programs can encode and print barcodes, but more secure features come standard on only the more advanced and sophisticated ID card printers.
