Using Barcode Badges in Entry

While AlphaCard Visitor Pass Entry does not directly allow for automatic check in using barcodes, using barcodes to search for a visitor can speed up the check in process.

Using Barcode Badges

Barcode badges, by their nature, allow you to quickly scan the information contained within that barcode into a field. In the case of AlphaCard Visitor Pass Entry, this is best used to scan one of the search fields directly into the search box.

If you do not need a custom number, using the auto generated ID number field as a barcode should work without issue.

If you need your own custom number instead, we recommend using the Representing field instead. It is one of the four searchable fields that AlphaCard Visitor Pass can use, and can be filled with any information that you need.

Once the barcode information is filled in, the next step would be just scanning the barcode into the search field. The search will pull up the applicable ID.

At this point you can check in the cardholder with no further action needed. Once they are checked in, simply erase the information in the search field and then scan the next badge in.
