How to Resolve a Breaking Ribbon on a DTC1000

If you are having issues with your ribbons breaking when you try to print with your Fargo DTC1000 printer, there are several steps you can take to resolve the issue.

How to Resolve a Breaking Ribbon

  1. Update your printer’s drivers to the newest versions.
  2. Calibrate the ribbon sensor.
  3. Clean the printer.
  4. Reduce the print head power.
  5. Try different card stock.
  6. Try a different ribbon.
  7. Blow the inside of the printer with compressed air.
  8. Verify that you have the correct power supply and it is not plugged into a surge protector.
