Resolving a Ribbon Wrinkle in an SD460

If your cards are coming out with stripes and printing errors on the edge like in the card shown below, your ribbon may be wrinkling and causing printing problems.

Fixing a Wrinkled Ribbon

1. Run a cleaning cycle on your printer. Regularly cleaning the printer will keep out dust and debris, which can damage the printer.
2. Update the printer firmware to the newest version from Datacard.
3. Reduce the printhead power.
4. Rotate your cards 180 degrees in the hopper to see if the wrinkling follows.
5. Try different cards.
6. Verify that you have the correct power supply.
