Resolve Communication Issues

If you have gotten the error that your Datacard SD260 printer will not communicate, there are several steps you can take to resolve the issue.

SD260 Will Not Communicate

1. Ensure the printer is turned on and plugged into your computer.
2. Make sure the USB port on the computer is not loose or broken.
3. Try a different USB port.
4. Try a different USB cable.
5. Make sure there is not a print job stuck in the printer que. Restart the Windows Spooler.
6. Try connecting the printer to a different computer.
7. Verify that you are not using a USB hub.
8. Verify that you are using the correct power supply.
9. Uninstall and reinstall the latest driver from Datacard under the admin account
10. Update the printer’s firmware to the latest version from Datacard.
11. Uninstall and reinstall USB printing support from the device manager.
