How to Retrieve the Internal USB IP Address of an SD260

You may need to know your Datacard SD260 printer’s IP address to perform some troubleshooting tasks or during installation. To display the IP address, you can do either of the following:

  • Press the Up or Down arrow keys while the printer displays Ready
  • Use the LCD menu system Status menu

The printer supports both IPv4 and IPv6 addressing. Because an IPv6 address is much longer than an IPv4 address, the LCD displays the two types of addresses differently. These steps will walk you through the process of using the LCD menu system Status menu to see the IPv4 address.

How to Retrieve an IPv4 Address

To display an IPv4 address using the Status menu, follow the steps below. You can also display the subnet mask, gateway address, and MAC address if necessary.
To begin, make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the network.

  1. Access the Status menu in the LCD menu. First press the User button to suspend the printer, then press the Enter key to enter the menu system.
  2. Press the Down arrow to display Status on line 2. Press Enter to enter the Status menu.
  3. Press the Down arrow twice to display Network IPv4 on line 2. Press Enter to display the Network IPv4 menu.
  4. Press the Down arrow key until IP Address displays on line 2. Press Enter to display the IP address. Record the IP address.
  5. If you need the Subnet Mask: Press Enter to return to the Network IPv4 menu. Subnet Mask displays on line 2. Press Enter to display the subnet mask. Record it, if necessary.
  6. If you need the Gateway Address: Press Enter to return to the Network IPv4 menu. Gateway Address displays on line 2. Press Enter to display the gateway address. Record it, if necessary.
