How to Resolve a Card Jam in a Compass

If your cards keep jamming when you try to print with your AlphaCard Compass printer, there are several steps you can take to resolve the issue.

How to Resolve Card Jams

1. Update your printer’s drivers and firmware to the newest versions. Download the AlphaCard Compass drivers and firmware.
2. Clean your printer. Regularly cleaning the printer will keep out dust and debris, which can damage the print head.
3. Try a different batch of cards.
4. Ensure that you are using the correct Sunpower brand power supply (each printer comes with a power supply). Also make sure that the printer is not plugged into a surge protector.
5. Calibrate the ribbon sensor by sending the FCL command.
6. Finally, ensure your cards are not CR-79 sized, which can cause problems.
