Photo ID SystemA photo ID system consists of a few simple components, the computer, ID card printer, camera, and ID card software. The photo ID system runs on the computer which is at the center of it, and the computer and software connect the other components together and manage the data and any other devices that may be part of the system. Systems can vary greatly in complexity, and the photo ID system may be embedded in an even more complex system for human resources management, school administration, facility access control, time-and-attendance or dozens of but at the heart of it, the photo ID part of it works pretty much the same.Photo ID System: Basic OperationThe employee, student or organization member walks up to the photo id system operator, and identifies herself. Then the operator either enters the member information or looks it up in the computer. The ID card software may store the cardholder data in its own database, it may be linked to a larger employee or other database, or it may store the data only long enough for the card to be printed out. Each method has its advantages, and we suggest you give us a call if you have any question about what might be best for you. After the subject is in front of the camera, the operator snaps the picture. Various versions of ID card software may allow the operator to crop the image, adjust contrast and color, or choose from several images that have preset variations. At that point, it takes just a simple click of the mouse to print the ID card. It typically takes 30-60 seconds for the ID card to complete printing of the ID badge. During that time the photo ID system operator can serve the next person in line. |
