School officials mull safety recommendations
Assessors recommended ID badges for every staff member, an update of the school?s emergency management plan and a parent reunification plan (where, in the event of an evacuation of all school buildings, students would be bused to the Butler lot to reunite with parents or guardians).The middle school, Sutton said, was praised for its frequent practicing of emergency procedures, adequate supervision between classes, having all doors except its front entrance locked, and for collaborating with local emergency officials to number all interior and exterior doors.

Middle school gym will get new tile floor in Hamilton
?Starting in January, all district employees will wear ID badges on lanyards,? said Jackson. ?Teachers will have keys to their classrooms on the lanyard so they have the ability to look the doors from the inside at anytime.?The district will have a practice lockdown in the spring with Hancock County Sheriff's Department officers and Hamilton police.?We're working with a couple of local churches on an evacuation plan if we have to evacuate students for a noxious gas or something,? said Jackson. ?We would go to the Catholic Church with junior high and high school students. It is away from downtown. If something's happening at the school, it's probably affecting downtown, too. The elementary school could evacuate to Bethel Presbyterian Church.

British plans on ID cards
UK ID card project is about to collapse and British government is planning to set up a new computer system for national identity
cards scheme that is believed to grant higher security levels. This decision seems to be a u-turn on the government?s initial plan about ID cards, a very criticized project known as "Identity Management Action Plan", later called the Strategic Action Plan for the National Identity Scheme that was approved on March 19th. According to the Home Secretary Mr.Reid, this new plan is not in contrast with the former one because when the Identity Management Action Plan was firstly approved, government declared that it would have been reviewed at the end of 2006, and he added that these changes will allow to save money and lower the risk of frauds.
