Controverisal Israeli security approach takes flight in U.S.
3:50 AM
"They agreed to provide us with some pertinent information, and as a result, we provided them with ID badges that allowed them to be around the area and gave them walkie-talkies to report suspicious activity. So what we gained with the cost of a few walkie-talkies and a few classes of training is a continuous presence around the airport for most hours of the day."After turning the security concept upside down at Logan Airport, Ron exported his behavior pattern recognition program to other locales, as well. Go Green or Go Home: Dickinson College Campaign Promotes Sustainable Campus
3:49 AM
Dickinsonians also wear their green by riding the red - bikes that is. The college has made over a dozen red bikes available for daily usage; students just leave their ID card at the HUB information desk and head to the bike
stable on Britton Plaza in front of the HUB. Not only are these riders reducing pollution, they are improving their health.Last year, the college reduced overall electricity consumption by 20 precent during the Green Devil Challenges and is looking to improve that number even more this time around. Siege the Day
3:45 AM

Privacy, tech flaws stall port IDs
3:30 AM
The long-overdue ID program foreshadows concerns that hundreds of millions of Americans soon may encounter as the government starts issuing similarly equipped driver?s licenses, passports, federal-worker badges and immigrant-guest-worker cards in coming years. The rocky launch of the Transportation Worker Identification Credential threatens to delay what Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff declared his highest priority after the Dubai port controversy in February: starting by year?s end to screen the backgrounds of 750,000 U.S. workers at critical sea, air and land transportation facilities, and issuing them microchip-equipped ID cards.
