On paper, the process is simple. You go to an EPIC centre, get your photo clicked and collect the card after a week. But the voters say this simple process has been turned into an ordeal. "Since 9.30 am we are waiting for our voter ID cards. Over 1,000 people are waiting. It's not being done in a systematic way and it's mismanagement," said A N Ghosh, a resident. In the confusion, names of bona fide voters are getting struck off rolls, photos don't match and genders are mixed up.

In the fourth bat, the Lords had proposed an amendment making the system opt-in until 2012, which would have meant that when you applied for your new passport (or other designated document, such as residence permit or driver's license) you would have the option of also being added to the National Identity Register and an ID card. That, of course, is not what the Government wants.

Timberlin to issue ID cards, passes
Anyone who will play golf at Timberlin Golf Course this year and wants to pay resident fees must obtain a photo ID card and must come in person to obtain it at the Tax Collectors Office in the Town Hall. Season passes for residents are also for sale at this time. The fee is $710, not $690 as publicized by the town. Senior unlimited passes are $490, not $475. You may obtain the cards/passes during regular business hours noted below.
