Measure to require photo IDs stirs outcry
Hearne said he believes that a photo ID will "increase voter participation," because voters will face fewer questions at the polls since they could easily prove their identity. He emphasized that Missouri will foot the bill for the free photo ID cards.

Three county schools express needs to BOE
?It was never a policy before. Several years ago we (the Board) were approached by the local advisary council in regard to wearing ID badges,? said Board member Terry LaRue. The overall idea is to have id badges, complete with photos, for teachers, substitues, vendors....anyone on BOE property. Ultimately at the Tuesday night meeting, a policy covering the wearing of id badges was adopted by the Board.

VHA taps CareFusion for bar code software
Tighe said the Bar Code Expansion project will increase the capabilities of the VA?s Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA) program, which has been installed in all VA medical centers since 1999. BCMA was set up to reduce medication errors by applying bar codes to prescriptions, patients? wristbands and nurses? ID badges.

Hospitals reviewing security measures after baby's abduction
Carla Morton, a registered nurse who runs the Mother-Baby Education Clinic at the Medical Center, said parents are told to make sure that people entering their rooms claiming to be hospital staff have proper identification badges. Monday, someone was able to take a 4-day-old boy from his mother, Keisha Robinson, by convincing her she was on staff, despite not having an ID badge.

Eastpointe students get ID tags, more security

In a post-9/11 era, company sees market for better identification
No more. The new ID cards, handed out to the department's officers, dispatchers and civilian personnel, were created by a Manalapan company, Safe ID Card Systems Inc. The company was founded in 2004 by Manalapan residents Steve Ross, 46, and Larry Kole, 47, who are friends and firefighters with the Gordons Corner Fire Co. in Manalapan. Safe ID makes identification cards for emergency services and municipal governments as well as businesses.
