NIH Visitors and Security
All employees must present a Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) photo ID badge (for example, your NIH-issued ID badge) and valid parking tag. All visitor and commercial vehicles will be inspected. Visitors must show one (1) form of identification (a government-issued photo ID ? driver?s license, passport, green card, etc.) All shuttle buses from off-campus facilities will undergo inspection at the campus perimeter, but will be allowed to enter and circulate on campus once inspected.

Cost plan for ID cards approved
The £5.8million proposed costs of the national identity cards scheme are ?robust and appropriate? according to independent research commissioned by the government, but concerns over the implied cost of the technology remain. In its report on the Outline Business Case for the ID cards programme, the consultant KPMG concluded the majority of 36 cost assumptions used by the Home Office are based on suitable benchmarks, evidence and analysis from public sector suppliers.

Driver's licenses, ID cards to change
A piece of plastic that's a major part of people's lives will change this summer after about 10 years of being the same. The Department of Transportation will change driver's licenses and state IDs by adding new security features, starting in July.
On Tuesday, Viisage, a Massachusetts-based company, announced that it received the contract to provide new licenses and IDs in North Dakota. The state's contract with Unisys expires in July. Full Article from Bismarcktribune.com.

Escaped U.S. death row inmate returns to Texas
Thompson left the locked prisoner's booth in the visiting room and waved a fake ID badge as he passed at least four jail employees. Thompson, described by his victims' families and his lawyer as a charmer, was let into the jail's visitor's lobby. From there, he walked out the door and into the street.

State law requires counties to set up procedures to issue medical marijuana ID cards.
Tuesday the Butte supervisors will hold a hearing on a process for taking applications for and issuing the cards. If approved the county will begin taking applications 30 days after the vote and would expect to start issuing the cards 30 days after that.
