Ashland schools consider employee ID cards

The Ashland School District is considering changing its visitors pass policy so that all teachers and staff would be required to wear their own identification badges and the superintendent could send a letter to people who continually fail to sign in at the office when visiting a school building. Members of the school's board policy committee discussed the policy changes with elementary and middle school principals Wednesday at a noon meeting in the district office.

Town residents may not have to wear ID badges

Golden Beach officials are researching an
identification badge system to distinguish residents from nonresidents at social functions. The badges, which would include a picture of the resident, also could have a magnetic strip that could be scanned to unlock public access doors and gates to public restrooms and tennis courts.
