Entry Level Sales Admin

Alpha Card Systems (www.alphacard.com) (security.alphacard.com) is a leading direct marketer of security systems for commercial, educational, and government customers. We are seeking to fill a Telephone-Based Sales Administrator opening in our SW Portland, Oregon (near Bridgeport Village) office that will report to the Director of Sales and be a key member of our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of and comfort level with Windows-based software as well as the ability and desire to take on new tasks as the work environment dictates. Experience with CRM software is a plus and a comfort level with phone work is a requirement. This is a very hands-on position with a unique company undergoing significant growth and change. The ability to work independently in a fast-paced company is a must.

Responsibilities:

1) Our existing customers return to us regularly for supplies, service and extended warranties. You would be making numerous outgoing calls, and update customer account information. No aggressive sales calls and no cold calling.

2) Keep in touch with our sales prospects. It takes a long time for some of our prospects to buy, and we need to get back to them periodically to stay friendly and see what's up. You must be able to chat easily and get information while being sensitive to the customer situation.

3) Assist other salespeople with customer inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent telephone skills and pleasant, friendly voice.
  • You should have strong computer skills for 2 reasons: our product is computer-based, and we use computer-based contact management software to maintain customer information and support our business processes.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail and solid administrative abilities.
  • You must be able to chat easily with people, get information from them, and help them get answers.
  • Ability to continuously improve and look for new, more efficient ways to get the job done.
  • Work cooperatively in a team environment.
Job Environment:

The environment is casual, yet professional. The hours worked may be somewhat flexible, but we would need you during most regular business hours (7 am - 4 pm).

The opportunity for increased sales responsibility exists if you have the interest and ability.

Compensation:

$28 - 40k/year, depending on experience. Considerable upside compensation potential.
