Grocery store club cards are typically printed on PVC plastic cards about the same size and shape as a credit or debit card. It's also common for customer rewards programs to offer key tags, which are smaller cards that can fit onto a keychain for added convenience.

Most grocery store membership cards will feature a magnetic stripe or bar code that can easily be scanned by a cashier. Once the card is scanned, certain sale items will drop in price automatically reducing the total bill, much to the delight of the shopper.
