Ultraviolet (UV) printing provides a covert layer of security for ID card programs requiring increased visual authenticity. ID card printers capable of utilizing UV ribbons print seemingly invisible images and text, allowing cards to be designed with hidden information. Invisible to the naked eye, this special ink can only be viewed with the aid of a UV light source, such as a black light. UV printing provides a means for verifying card authenticity.
The Magicard Prima line of ID card printers are capable of UV printing when combined with a UV ribbon. UV printing doesn’t require special supplies or module upgrades.
