RFID

Radio Frequency ID (RFID) technology is commonly used for tracking and identifying people and objects. It’s economical and simple to use, making it a popular solution for a variety of applications around the world.

First, RFID chips are embedded into cards or tags. Next, they are encoded with a small piece of identifying information, such as a serial code. This enables cards and tags to communicate with readers when within a certain range. RFID cards, also called proximity cards, are commonly used for convenient hands-free access control. RFID cards often last longer than magnetic stripe cards and other contact cards because they require less handling. Many ID card printers are capable of encoding RFID cards during the printing process.
