So, you've decided to get an ID card printer for your business or organization. What's next? Before you get to designing and printing, it might be worth it to create a backbone to support your ID card program - a reference document (formal or informal) given to card holders that explains what their ID badges can do, and where and how they should be used.

Creating an ID card program or ID card policy is easier than you think; but also much more important. ID card programs define what a card should and should not be used for, how it is to be used, and the responsibilities of both a cardholder and card issuer. With membership cards or customer rewards cards, for example, the card policy for these programs serves as a contract between the store and customer, and can be easily used to settle disputes or answer questions should they arise.
