Databases store and organize data. Most ID card software features a built-in database that enables convenient searching and manipulation of card information and design. Databases prove convenient when managing a large ID card program or frequent updates of card information is required. Database function and format depend on the type of ID software. Some programs allow the use of existing databases from compatible programs like Access or SQL.
