Alpha Card Software is compatible with virtually all major ID card printers, including Fargo, Zebra, Magicard, and Evolis. It communicates with file-based data sources such as Microsoft Access, Excel, FoxPro, and dBase, and depending on the edition, supports live ODBC connectivity. The software also seamlessly integrates with digital cameras, scanners, and other devices that support TWAIN or WIA. Easy Setup
Alpha Card Software features a step-by-step setup and design wizard allowing even first-time users to quickly begin designing and printing professional photo IDs. The design process is simple and straight forward, featuring drag-and-drop field, grid lines and snap tools. Customizable Record Screen Use single-record view or spreadsheet view for displaying records, batch printing and batch editing. The record screen layout is fully customizable, depending on the Alpha Card edition. Multiple Options for Viewing Records In single-record mode, formatted data can be viewed along with a preview of the ID card for a specific individual. In spreadsheet mode, multiple records are displayed in a grid format ideal for batch printing and editing. 
Fast Record Search CapabilitiesComprehensive search options make it easy for users to quickly locate records within specific fields or all fields. Rich Text Editor Rich text editing allows you to combine regular text with multiple database fields, serial numbers, and dates and times while always maintaining proper spacing and alignment.
ID Features
Add security elements such as bar codes, magnetic stripes, smart card encoding and proximity encoding to your ID cards and badges. Alpha Card supports over 20 industry standard 1D and 2D barcodes including Data Matrix, PDF417, Code 128, Code 39, ISSN, ISBN, PDF417, and many more. The software also supports electronic signature acquisition from Topaz, IntegraSign / Interlink signature pads. Conditional Layers and Objects
Design your ID badges in layers so that specific design elements can be set to print only when designated database conditions are met for an individual record. Conditional elements and layers enable you to operate form one design that can meet a variety of user types.  Centralized Management
Mange multiple groups, users and locations centrally. Tie multiple users to a single “company” that controls card designs, database pathways, logs, user rights, and other information beyond the cardholder databases, allowing for centralized administration, configuration, and reporting. Quickly Connect to Open DatabasesAlpha Card uses an open data architecture that allows you to quickly connect to an existing data source. Alpha Card ID Card Software supports live connectivity to file-based data sources such as Microsoft Excel, Access, FoxPro, dBase. Depending on the edition, you can also connect to ODBC / OLE DB databases such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL. Alpha Card also includes pre-configured databases for education, corporate, government, healthcare, and membership organizations, all of which can be easily modified and edited. Design professional photo IDs for any sized PVC card. Build single or double-sided cards in portrait or landscape mode. Choose from a variety of design elements to drag and drop into the card layout. During the design process, view field names or switch to live data mode for a true preview of how the card will print.  
Import, Acquire and Edit ImagesImport images in a variety of formats including BMP, JPEG, Photoshop, GIF, TIFF, PNG, and more. Acquire images from any digital camera or scanner that supports TWAIN or WIA. Images can be manually or automatically edited, formatted, and placed into a card design. Automatically remove backgrounds from photos. Build Layered Designs Cards can be designed in layers for better organization and management of elements including watermark effects, transparency control, and the ability to conditionally print layers and objects. Powerful Security Features
Password protection, individual user and group accounts, and a variety of security features help to prevent unauthorized access to design files and records. Designs can be given a digital key, for instance, that can only be recreated by an authorized user. Blend watermarks onto documents, and establish user permissions.  Card Issue Center The Card Issue Center allows authorized users to quickly print cards and add, modify, and delete database records. Print from Third Party Applications
Alpha Card ID Card Software can be launched from third party applications via the Command Line Interface. The interface includes full scripting support.
