At trade shows, conventions and other events with hundreds of attendees, security screening can be difficult; with the larger photo ID cards the CR100 can produce, however, your security staff can screen guests more quickly. And because all Fargo HDP printers use an innovative, reverse transfer method of printing, your cards will be difficult to alter. Instead of printing directly onto the card, the HDP600 transfers your images onto a special film, which the printer bonds to the plastic card using heat and pressure. If a counterfeiter tries to peel the film off, the image will be obliterated. And because the printhead doesn't ever touch the card itself, you will always enjoy consistent, over-the-edge printing-- even if embedded smart chips cause ridges in the card's surface.
In addition to the security afforded by the high definition printing process, lamination will add a new dimension of protection to your cards. Use clear overlaminate, or you may opt to use laminate with a holographic pattern for easier security verification. A laminated card will also extend a card's lifespan, since laminated cards last up to 25 times longer than non-laminated cards. The laminating module also comes with a reject hopper to separate defective cards, which is not a feature of the standard CR100. Numerous smart card and magnetic stripe encoding options are also available for factory or field installation.
