If you want a networkable direct-to-card printer for your large organization, business or university, the Fargo DTC550 offers optional Ethernet capability so that anyone authorized on your network may print high-quality color cards quickly. This model comes with a factory-installed magnetic stripe encoder, which produces high and low-coercivity magnetic stripes on tracks 1, 2 and 3. Plus, the Fargo DTC550 is ideal for large batch printing, since its dual 100-card hoppers allow you to print two different types of cards at once, with an expedient print speed of 27 seconds per one-sided color card. Magnetic stripe encoding takes place in the same pass as printing.

When you opt to include Ethernet networking, you may keep your printer in a secure location so that multiple individuals on your network may print, but only authorized individuals may physically access the cards. This adds a level of convenience that other direct-to-card printers cannot provide. And if you're concerned about forgery, a lamination module both adds additional protection against card alteration and lengthens the life of your cards.
