Magicard Prima 3 Reverse Transfer ID Card Printer

The Magicard Prima 3 is a powerful reverse-transfer printer designed for the most demanding, high-volume ID card applications. The printer produces extremely durable ID cards and badges, while offering a host of sophisticated security features.

Reverse-Transfer Printing

Key to the Prima 3's incredible performance is an innovative reverse-transfer printing process that produces crisp and vivid images, while allowing users to print on a variety of card types. Card images are first transferred onto a clear film which is then laminated onto the card. This method enhances durability because of the additional layer provided by the polyester-based film. Other advantages of reverse-transfer printing include exceptional print quality, true over-the-edge printing, and the ability to print consistently on embedded technology cards with uneven surfaces.

High-Volume Printing

The Magicard Prima 3 is built to handle the high-volume printing needs of corporations, government ID programs, and more. Using high-capacity YMCK ribbon and a separate re-transfer film, the Prima 3 can perform 1000 color prints at a time. Both the ribbon and the film cartridges load easily into the printer.

Encoding Options and Inline Lamination

For organizations wishing to produce sophisticated, multifunctional ID cards, the Magicard Prima 3 offers options for magnetic stripe encoding, smart card encoding, and proximity card technology. An optional chip controller board also allows supports MIFARE, DESFire, and HID iCLASS encoding technologies.

An Inline Lamination Module can also be added to the printer for those looking to add further durability and security to their ID cards and badges.
