Library Card Printers
When you're in the market for a new library card printer, you have several decisions to make about how you'll be issuing your new library cards. A good library ID card maker can make circulation at all libraries - whether they be public, school, college or university, or corporate - smoother for everyone.
Things to consider when choosing a library card printer:
- Card issuance method. If your current system involves giving patrons a personalized library card (with or without a photo) when they come up to your checkout desk to take out books or other library property, you may not need anything more than a manual, single-card feeder on your library card maker. If, on the other hand, you plan to print generic library cards for your patrons, an automatic card printer that can print cards in batches without user interventions may be helpful. An automatic card printer can also be helpful if your library is especially large.
- Volume of library patrons. If you work in a large library that issues more than a few cards per day, a more heavy-duty library card printer may be in order! Also, to design your library cards, you'll need ID badge design software that connects to a database. Unlimited database storage is a requirement for almost all libraries, since individuals rarely cancel library memberships and new members sign up regularly.
