Fargo HDP600 Printer

Like other Fargo printers, the HDP600 can be customized with extra features like encoding modules for magnetic stripe cards or smart cards, and lamination modules. A powerful Fargo print engine and automatically calibrating high definition printing (HDP) system create richly colored, over-the-edge cards that may last up to twice as long as a normal PVC card. Instead of printing the card image directly to the PVc card, as is the case with most other ID card printers, the HDP600 and other HDP printers from Fargo first print a reverse copy of the image onto a durable overlaminate, which is then applied to the card. The overlaminate protects the card from harmful elements like friction and everyday wear and tear, while simultaneously acting as a barrier against would-be tampering.
