| Zebra P310i & Zebra P330i: The Differences Eltron card printers are characterized by their reliability. Both the Zebra Eltron P310i and Zebra Eltron P330i are incredibly well made single-sided plastic card printers. The quit operation and small footprint of the older Zebra P310i made it particularly well suited for desktops or reception areas. What users found extraordinary about this ID card maker, however, was the reliability of its engine. Zebra Eltron, aware of the acclaim this particular virtue garnered, installed the same engine used by the Eltron P310i into its new Zebra P330i. Then it tested the new Zebra P330i ID printer by printing over 5000 ID cards, ranging in thickness from 10 to 60 mils, without a single problem. The company moved over 40,000 ID badges through the same path the blank ID Cards in your ID Card Printer will follow. What is different? Refinements to other parts of this ID card maker’s design, which allow the new Zebra P330i to handle larger tasks – and handle them more easily. A new card feeder design allows the Zebra P330i ID printer to hold 220 blank ID cards, instead of 100. For the Zebra P330i, it is the weight of the ID cards themselves that ensures they are fed consistently into the ID card machine. ID card printer ribbons are easier to load on the new Eltron P330i. The printhead bracket of the Eltron P330i opens more than twice as wide as that of the Zebra P310i, which makes the new ID printer easier to clean. The printhead itself now comes with “floating gimbal” action that automatically adjusts to uneven ID card surfaces. The new Zebra P330i also makes life easier for the office as a whole. Ethernet connectivity comes standard with the Zebra Eltron P330i. “One cable” encoding will soon be offered via Ethernet as well, allowing remote printing and encoding.
