AlphaCard is excited to introduce the newest technology from Entrust Datacard™, a leading ID card printer manufacturer – the Entrust Datacard™ CR805™ Card Printer!

What makes the CR805™ card printer different from other card printers? It’s a reverse transfer printer that uses pigment ink instead of traditional dye films, has 600 dpi resolution, and provides true over-the-edge printing to give you high quality printing with clearer, more vivid colors.

Pigment ink ribbons use the same colors as a dye film ribbon, but in a slightly different order to maximize image quality; they also use a primer panel for better adherence to the card. A full color single-sided pigment ribbon would then be a CMYKP (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black, and Primer). Ribbons for the CR805™ card printer are available for single-sided and dual-sided printing.

The Durable Benefits of Lamination

Lamination is the process of adding an additional layer to your printed cards that protects them from UV damage, scratches and other wear and tear, and tampering. This helps your cards last longer, especially if your cards are frequently swiped and scanned, reducing your costs for replacement cards.

The CR805™ card printer is available with single-sided or dual-sided lamination, and laminate films come in a wide range of styles including clear and holographic for additional visual security.

Improve Card Security with Tactile Impression

Entrust Datacard’s unique tactile impression creates card security you can see and feel by using a die to physically impress a design into your cards. The impression is made over the lamination, so attempts to tamper with the card will tear the lamination and make it clear the card was compromised.

With the CR805™ card printer you can select from several pre-designed dies (or even custom design your own!) and then use the print manager to select the vertical and horizontal location you want to imprint the design.
