Fargo recently introduced a new line of DTC printers that include innovative printing options for businesses and organizations of all sizes. With options for entry-level printing right on up to high-volume, high-security card production, the DTC printers can be used to create ID cards and badges for employee ID programs, schools, membership and loyalty programs and more.

It’s not often that you have a chance to be a part of Olympic history, but this summer AlphaCard was lucky enough to play a small, supporting role in a momentous fiftieth reunion celebration. When the International Olympic Committee organized a reunion celebration for the athletes from the 1960 games in Rome, AlphaCard designed and printed custom cards for the Hungarian team attending the reunion.

Deciding to re-card an entire college is a daunting prospect, but that’s exactly what Emerson College set out to do this year when they replaced their old ID card system with contactless card technology. Located in Boston’s theater district, the school’s eight buildings on campus see thousands of visitors walk by every day. The new contactless system provides the school with increased security and greater flexibility for access control, information management, and cashless payment.

Using your own digital camera is more labor intensive, but it is possible to use it to produce ID photos. You will need to manually crop and place each photo into its corresponding badge template.

Rewritable cards are PVC cards with a special finish on one side that can be printed upon and erased up to several hundred times. They are even available with magnetic stripes or embedded electronics for multifunctional card programs.
