This week Evolis announced the arrival of its new Quantum printer designed for high-volume dual-sided ID card personalization. The latest version of the Evolis Quantum is an extremely flexible machine that can adapt to meet varying card-printing needs. The printer has a modular design that speeds up card personalization by printing and encoding at the same time. It's ideal for large card programs and applications such as IDs and membership cards, student IDs, transportation passes, payment cards, and employee badges.
The Quantum includes a unique detachable and reversible encoding unit that combines magnetic stripe, contact and contactless smart card encoding. This separate encoding unit can be upgraded with almost any smart chip encoder for organizations requiring advanced card functionality. The printer also comes standard with USB and Ethernet ports, allowing multiple users to print from multiple locations in a networked environment. For large batch-printing jobs, the Quantum features two high-capacity hoppers that hold 500 cards each. The hoppers are detachable and can be used to either feed or collect cards as they're printed.
